Knitting Projects

With fall now here and winter so close this is the time that i love to knit. Nothing beats sitting by the fireplace while watching my favorite TV shows and creating some beautiful knitting wear. Mind you this is after my daughter has gone to bed, i rarely have the time to do any of it while she's awake.

Currently i'm in the middle of making fingerless gloves for my sister, then i need to make a couple more of the earflap hats for some of my guy friends and of course my husband. Then i need to create a pillow pattern for friends coming into town next year! I hope it turns out as i'm pretty excited about this project!

I also need to figure out what to make myself next, since my last project i made for myself was a big flop. I read the pattern wrong and the dress was way bigger than expected. I will eventually post a picture when i get brave enough to show my big mistake!

Subscription

So i am a huge magazine reader especially knitting magazines. I get excited when i see a new one in my mail box. Of course today was that day, i get home and there is a new magazine awaiting for me to read.

Have you checked out the Knit Simple Magazine? If you haven't i highly recommend it. It has a ton of awesome patterns, some hard and some easy.

This is the new one that came in today! I am so very excited. :) I'll let you know if i find any new patterns in there that i like!

Recent work!

So this is one blog i haven't posted much on, but i want to make more of an effort to do so, especially now that i've been knitting more and have had the chance to really finish some cool projects lately.

My two recent projects were winter hats for my husband and daughter. It's sad knowing that winter is just around the corner but i am glad that their hats will keep their heads warm.

Here is a picture of the two of them together! Aren't they cute! :)

I found the ski hat pattern on Knitty It was definietly a challenging hat as this is something that was more of a harder pattern than i am used too. This was my first time using double pointed needles and small ones at that. The yarn was a worested weight #4 which worked well.

Callie's hat was definietly more of an easier pattern. It was seed stitch on the ear flaps and stockin' knit stitch on the top. Every year i get Callie to pick her yarn that way i know she will wear it!

I even had to make her puppy a cute little hat!
